Bringing Home Baby 1

“Bringing Home Baby”

Behind the Design!

Working on this project held extra sentimental value for the land we were building on. The homeowner grew up on this lot and it had been in the family for over 6 decades, so we had to get it right! The clients knew they always envisioned a traditional white/black farmhouse so that definitely helped get the outside aesthetic established.

Working on designing the interior was strongly based around the fact that they wanted a home for thier family to grow in. They currently have one son, but plan on more kids down the road, so we kept that top of mind. We knew the main must haves in this home were ample storage, 2 stories with all rooms on second level, and a massive kitchen!

Once we figured out the floorplan, it was time to sprinkle in that traditional farmhouse decor.

We used a luxury vinyl plank material that is durable and will help last throughout the years. The color we choose mimics real wood, but has multiple light and dark tones to play off of.

The most unique feature was the kitchen island that can easily seat 10-12 people. The homeowners eat most of meals at the island, so it had to double as counterspace, and a dining room. We were also sure to give them extra cabinet space and extra storage under the stairs to help keep everything organized and clean.

We choose furniture and decor that were cohesive with the country style living, and neutral palette. Upstairs in the loft space was the best area to view the lake on the property so we were inspired to incorporate tones of blue. The light fixtures throughout provided by Kichler, were darker brown finish that tied into the colors in the flooring. Everything in this home played well with each other and kept true to the design style the homeowners were going for.

Classic, traditional, and timeless.
